Battle Royale: Anaconda vs Black Bear vs Puma!

Anaconda vs Black Bear vs Puma

In this battle royale simulator, we'll be taking three of the toughest animals around and throwing them into Fantasy Brawl's battle area. The world's biggest snake, the anaconda, will be facing off against two of America's top predators, the Black Bear and the Mountain Lion. The key to victory in this type of matchup will strongly depend on who launches the first attack.

In nearly all of the scenarios our robots ran, the animal that struck first ended up losing. So, of these creatures, which of the three is the most aggressive and territorial, thus causing them to strike the first blow? Let's find out!

Who is the most aggressive: the anaconda, black bear, or mountain lion?

To figure out which of these beasts is most likely to choose violence, we'll explore their hunting and behavioral patterns, starting with the scariest of the three, the Anaconda. These comically large snakes are ambush predators, and it makes sense why. The animals are giant but would have a very hard time chasing anything down on land unless caught by surprise.

Without limbs, its terrestrial mobility is severely limited. As such, it doesn't go around picking fights and is the least likely of the trio to start the conflict. Bears, on the other hand, are a little different. They don't shy away from competition as much as anacondas do, and mothers are known to violently defend their cubs.

Male bears often get into territorial disputes and fights over mates that turn ugly, though not frequently fatal. They are omnivores and have been known to chase down a deer or two but mostly forage and dine on fish. These big bears try to avoid people and other animals and will typically only attack if provoked.

So, while more aggressive than an anaconda, they will not be the first to strike. That leaves the mighty, cranky Puma. These animals stalk prey and have attacked and killed humans before. Their lack of fear and aggressive demeanor means they would most certainly be the first to start attacking. But who would the hyper-aggressive cat attack first?

Who is the Puma going to attack first?

In this scenario, there is an anaconda hailing from South America and a pair of monsters from North America: the Black Bear and Mountain Lion. Since the cougar has probably never encountered a snake that large, it would likely strike a familiar face since it's much easier to make out its anatomy.

Like many big cats, Mountain Lions are always looking to sever the spine of their victims via a big, nasty, powerful bite to the neck. Now that we know who the aggressor is attacking first, let's find out how the rest of the brawl plays out.

Who wins: Anaconda vs Mountain Lion vs Bear?

The puma goes on the offensive against the black bear and swipes at its face and neck with its razor-sharp claws. The black bear retaliates with its own paw swipes and bites. While the fight rages on, the anaconda is now starting to feel threatened. Given the small space in the battle arena, it sees no means of retreat and decides to join the scrap.

The monster snake sinks its fangs into the cougar since it looks very similar to its foe back home, the jaguar. It starts to coil its body around the cougar, tanking numerous bites to its elongated body. But one of the bites hits its mark and crushes the skull of the snake, removing it from the battle.

Now a beaten and exhausted cougar needs to fend off an enraged bear, still extremely upset about all the lacerations on its body courtesy of the big cat. The black bear uses its superior size to crush the cat's spine, delivering it the W in this brutal triple threat match.

After this battle, we know you want more!

The winner of this free-for-all was the black bear. However, depending on who struck first, the battle could have gone either way. If you're a fan of America's coolest predators, check out Mountain Lion vs Black Bear to find out what happens when a healthy mountain lion takes on a black bear.
