How Many Ants Would it Take - The Simulator!

Fire Any Pixel Art

Ants are some of the strongest and most efficient animals on the planet. You can find them on nearly every continent on our planet, save for Antartic. The reason they can survive in nearly any climate is largely due to their strength, ability to communicate, and work together to achieve their objectives.

You won't find a more efficient army than the ants anywhere else in the world. I believe that if enough ants banded together they could take down any foe monther nature throws at them. Now, the number of ants needed for this task is something I sought to find out

I've chronologed my findings here in the Ant Battle Simulator. To use this super addictive tool, simply choose an animal from the list below. Once you've decided on a victim...I mean a combatant, choose the species of ant they'll do battle against.

Finally, click the 'Brawl' button and the simulator will let you know exactly how many ants are needed to defeat the animal you chose.

How does this simulator decide battles?

Here is a little context about each battle. Each bout assumes the ants are employing their classic, George W Bush inspired 'Shock and Awe' tactic, by where they swarm the enemy from all angles.

The animal it's fighting will be using whatever native defenses it has to remove the countless tiny foes surrounding it. The bouts do not consider the climate and all assume the animal is fully grown and of average size for its species.

All the battles are also taking place on dry land so there are no scenarios in which the ants are essentially floating masses of bite sized snacks. For more info about these magnificent mini titans, keep on scrolling for answers to frequently asked questions about ants.

How many ants are in the world?

It's estimated that there are about 20 quadrillion ants on Earth. That's 20,000,000,000,000,000 of the baddest soliders on the planet!

How many ants on earth?

The sheer number of ants makes them one of the most populous species on the planet. Their collective biomass rivals that of humans, showcasing their incredible success as a species.

How many ants get killed a day?

Millions of ants likely perish daily due to various natural and human-induced causes. However they reproduce like radioactive rabbits so the deaths are barely noticable overall.

How many calories in an ant?

On average, a single ant contains about 0.001 calories. So you'd need to eat a lot of ants to make a meal, but they're surprisingly nutritious and packed with protein. So maybe body builders will start eating these instead of drinking breast milk.
